Hardware Materials

The buckles and D-rings used in our collars are primarily made from solid brass or stainless steel.

These metals are commonly used in quality leather goods because they provide a reliable balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term performance.

Many of the buckles used in our collars are made from solid brass with different surface finishes, such as nickel plate or antique finishes. In these cases, the underlying buckle remains solid brass while the plating provides the desired surface color. This allows the hardware to match the overall design of the collar while maintaining the strength of the solid brass base. Hardware Weight & Proportions

Hardware is selected to match the collar width and proportions of each collar.
Larger collars are paired with more substantial hardware for balance, while smaller collars use lighter hardware for comfort.

In some designs, collars may be tapered near the buckle, allowing for smaller hardware while maintaining a wider decorative front.

If you prefer a lighter or smaller hardware option, we are happy to accommodate requests when possible.

Roller Buckles

Many of our collars use roller buckles.
The small rolling bar allows the leather to move more smoothly during adjustment, reducing friction and wear over time.
